PERK AND GLAZE – FRIDAY, AUGUST 27, 2010

Will it ever stop raining? This is Florida – the “sunshine state” – but this past week it’s not living up to its’ image! But then we shouldn’t complain – for the hurricanes seem to be turning up north and staying out in Atlantic!

Just finished printing the September Activity Corner (your summer Reflections) – and have them on the stage to pick up.

Guests??? New Residents???

Trivia question for today – “As our first season opened in October of 1982 – what season will be opening up this October?” Answer – “the 29th

Can’t thank our hostess and host today, as it was I…………I have posted a signup sheet for the Perk and Glaze Hostesses and Hosts. The Stickneys have already signed up for next week. Would like to have it filled up for the time I’m gone.

Birthdays????   Anniversaries???

Rachel………………….

Comments on our “Hawaii is a State” Dinner were very favorable…………..the meat and chicken melted in your mouth, very tasty. Tom Cook, of Golf Mine Express and his Boys did a great Job – and worked around the rain too! Must thank him when you go to the Casino!

Had to cancel the Wacky Wednesday Miniature Golf Outing due to the weather – and so few signing up.

Tonight again – not many signed up, but I will go and drive – We’ll leave at 5:30 p.m.

Have also posted the sign up for Black Cows on Sunday, “Love That Dress” for the 1st, the Tuna/Berry Sandwich, Millin’ Golf and Labor Day Picnic Dinner. Oh, the Thrifty Shopping too!

This past week we lost Linda Story – I had heard she was fighting cancer before she left here this Spring. Please sign our “Sincerest Sympathy” note to be sent to her husband Tommy and Family.

We also have a “Speedy Recovery” note for Richard Anderson, as he fell and broke his left hip and left elbow.

Finished my “Summer Letter” – and will be in your mail shortly. Haven’t filled up all openings for the season………………..so watch for them in the November Reflections….I would say October, but due to my vacation and office closing on the 7th of September I will have October complete and ready – and Rachel will put the Activity Corner on the sign up table during the last week in September.

Good Morning Everyone. Just a few things…..

The guys are continuing to mow. We have had more than our fair share of rain this week. This makes it very difficult to keep up with the mowing, so they will be working this Saturday half day to catch up.

The fountains in all the lakes were cleaned this week, as well as the side walk by the tennis and shuffleboard courts. Claudia cleaned all the umbrellas for Joe’s place. They look great!

The summer letter is being mailed out today, so be on the lookout.

The pump at Pine Lake needs rebuilt. I am awaiting a price on that. This in an irrigation pump.

The trees just across from the flag pole, five pines, had pine boar and have been removed.

Have a great weekend!

Rachel
